Announcement - Randy Thom Conference

Hi there !

I'm very pleased to announce a great news. VIEW Conference, the premiere international event in Italy on Computer Graphics, Digital Cinema, 3D Animation, Gaming, VFX and Interactive Techniques will take place in Turin from 25th to 28th, followed by the VIEWFest, the Computer Animation Festival (from 21st to 23rd October 2011).

This year the conference will host many unmissable talks and workshops with international guests. I would like to call your attention to one of the international guests that can be interesting for you... the special participation of Randy Thom, multiple Academy-Award winning director of sound design for Skywalker Sound.

Thom’s first film credit was as a post-production sound recordist for the film Apocalypse Now (1979). He has since designed, edited, or mixed the sound for 99 live-action and animated films, including, most recently, Fox/Blue Sky Studio’s animated feature Rio (2011). He has received 14 Oscar nominations and won two Oscars, for Best Achievement in Sound Editing on The Incredibles (2004), and Best Sound on The Right Stuff (1983).

Randy Thom has worked in a wide variety of creative capacities within the sound department in on some of biggest blockbusters such as Forrest Gump, Harry Potter and Ratatouille.

He has one of the most beautiful career and experience in the world, if one of you passes by Italy, don't miss it & report.
